WW1 Photo Albums for the King's Own Royal Regiment Museum

The 3R Charity Shop received a very kind donation of a number of very old photo albums some months ago. They all seemed to be of WWI, often referred to as the Great War. When we looked into them we realised that they documented in great detail the career of a local Lancaster man starting as a junior officer in the Lancaster Kings Own Royal Regiment and moving up through the officer ranks as he trained his men locally in Halton and was then posted to the trenches in France and Belgium. The photos included rare images of the actual trenches in Flanders so after a bit of advice from our good friends at BAY VETERANS ASSOCIATION we thought the very best place for the albums would be the King's Own Royal Regiment Museum in Lancaster.
Rachel Roberts from Museum is shown with our shop manager Sue Calland and team leader Jesse McGillivray collecting all the albums from our shop in Carnforth last week.
