The 3R Foundation recently awarded £1000 to Holme Bowling Club for a stainless steel and glass balustrade.
Holme Crown Green Bowling Club is located in the village of Holme and has been in existence for approximately 40 years.

The primary aim of the club is to promote the sport of crown green bowling within the village and to provide facilities for both members and visitors to enjoy the game, whether informally or through competitive participation in local leagues.
The club is run entirely by volunteers and is funded through membership fees and fundraising activities. It currently has 65 members and fields 7 teams who compete each week during the season in local bowling leagues.
As part of ongoing efforts to improve facilities and accessibility, the club wanted to improve an area next to the access point to the bowling green, creating a designated viewing and spectator area for less able members and visitors. The playing surface of the bowling green is currently accessible only via steps and a ramp, which can present difficulties for individuals with limited mobility. Although some may not wish to play, they still appreciate the opportunity to spectate.
The area was resurfaced to provide a flat, easily accessible spectator area. A 5.6-metre section of existing timber fencing was replaced with a stainless steel and glass balustrade funded by the 3R Foundation grant, offering an unobstructed view of the green and an excellent viewing position without the need to navigate steps or ramps.
