Grant Awarded to Child Action North West

The 3R Foundation awarded a grant of £1,000 to Child Action North West for the purchase of battery and petrol operated power tools. CANW are working In partnership with the Super Slow Way project, founded in 2015 as one of Arts Council England’s Creative People & Places projects.
Super Slow Way is a geography and a process, as well as a programme. They support people along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal Corridor using its rich assets of environment, heritage, and community.
The tools will be used by the project team who work with young people aged 10-17 years who have come to the attention of the Police or courts due to wrong choices being made and receive an element of reparation to carry out as a way of making amends for their actions and take responsibility for their behaviour. They work together to develop new community spaces along a canal stretch in Blackburn for people to enjoy a range of activities. The project allows people to come together and get to know one another and enjoy a range of activities. Over the coming months there will be a range of free workshops and activities including canoeing, archery, creative workshops, growing and cooking along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.
