GRANT AWARDED - LANCASTER & MORECAMBE HOCKEY CLUB
3R Foundation Grant
The 3R Foundation has awarded £500 to Lancaster and Morecambe Hockey Club so they can purchase 8 new adult and 4 new junior face safety masks, which need to be worn during the more crucial parts of the matches.

Christiane who contacted us with the application, said that lots of their face masks are now several years old, and they are subject to a lot of wear and tear, so if they have been worn during an injury, or had an impact, then immediate replacement is recommended to ensure the safety and integrity of the mask.

We visited them on a very rainy evening at their base at the University of Cumbria, Lancaster. They currently have two Mens and three Ladies teams who train weekly on a Wednesday and play competitively on a Saturday. Plus a thriving junior development programme for children in Years 2 to 11, who train weekly on a Monday and play in age appropriate leagues on a Sunday. They also rely on a strong set of volunteers who coach, umpire and make up our committee, with the ethos of offering hockey as a sport for all. So we were very pleased we could help them play safely.
