GRANT AWARDED - CARNFORTH HIGH SCHOOL Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
The 3R Foundation has recently awarded a grant of £1,000 to Carnforth High School to purchase 10x tents and 2x Trangia camping stoves for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
Carnforth High School DofE co-ordinator Jack Grieve told us that the school has recently launched a year 7 and year 8 outdoor activity reward. This entails a totally free, 1 night stay on a local campsite whereby all pupils take part in a carousel of outdoor activities such as: bushcraft, orienteering, nature hunts, outdoor cooking etc. The new equipment funded by the 3R Foundation will allow access to this opportunity for at least 90 pupils each year.
