GRANT AWARDED -  BAY veterans association
3R Foundation Grant Award
The 3R Foundation has awarded £125 to the BAY veterans association which they have used to buy a Boccia set (yes we had to ask as well!). Gary Kniveton from Bay Veterans explained: "BVA is a veterans support group and runs a weekly Wednesday morning breakfast club in Morecambe.

The group are predominantly 65+ and some members have mobility issues. They struggle to take part in strenuous activities hence the request for the Boccia game. Boccia is a recognised paralympic sport and can be played inside from a seated position, zimmer frame, wheelchair etc. This game is an excellent socialisation activity will encourage collaboration and addresses the members wellbeing and coaxes them out of their social isolation.

Sue and Paul from the 3R Foundation went along to officially hand over the grant at last weeks lively weekly morning meeting at The York pub where the bacon buns were very popular considering how fast they were disappearing. All ex services are welcome so go along and say hello!
